Choose this day for a landscape garden and an entertainment district without a cross-city transfer. Start with Koishikawa Korakuen, eat lunch, then decide how much of Tokyo Dome City to explore. This is different from Koishikawa Botanical Gardens, which appears in our separate Bunkyo route.
Garden first, rides optional
Morning at the garden
The east gate is about five minutes from JR Suidobashi west exit or six minutes from Korakuen exit 2. Standard admission is ¥300 for adults, ¥150 for ages 65+, and free for elementary-school children and younger. Hours are 09:00–17:00, last entry 16:30; December 29–January 1 is closed. Check special-event notices rather than assuming a daytime ticket includes night viewing.
Allow about 90 minutes. Choose paths to suit the group instead of covering every viewpoint. The photograph shows stone steps; this itinerary does not guarantee step-free access throughout. Ask the venue about individual mobility needs.
Lunch and the next decision
Return towards Tokyo Dome City for a seated lunch. The official accessible sightseeing guide includes LaQua shops and restaurants. Allow an hour, including finding a suitable menu. Confirm dietary requirements with the restaurant. Allow 10–20 minutes for the outdoor connection from the garden, depending on your gate and destination; this is an editorial estimate.
The Tokyo Dome City pin is an orientation point for a district, not the entrance to every ride. Use the official ticket and operation pages to compare individual rides with passes. Check height, age and accompanying-adult restrictions for your chosen attractions before purchasing. A pass has little value if the rides your child wants are unavailable. Stadium games and concerts are separate events; this route does not include admission to Tokyo Dome itself.
Weather changes
The garden and connections are outdoors. Move the garden visit in heavy rain and check ride operation before paying. Shopping and lunch can make a shorter outing, but the whole amusement area is not weatherproof. For another option, see our Tokyo rainy-day guide.
Fit this into a longer Japan trip
Use the 14-day Japan itinerary to place this visit in a complete route with hotel nights, transfer days and luggage planning. Choose the matching city day or half-day; optional alternatives replace part of the plan rather than adding another full day.
