Is this route right for you?

Choose this afternoon for vintage clothes, records and street culture, then compare them with the mainstream shops of Shinsaibashi-suji. This is a self-guided neighbourhood shopping route, not a sightseeing checklist or a guided tour booking. It works best when you actually want time in shops; without shopping, it is a much shorter walk.

12:00–16:45 · 4h 45m including visits, travel and food. These are editorial planning allowances, not measured journeys or live queues.

What you will actually see

Begin around Sankaku Park in Amerikamura and choose two or three shops on the surrounding public streets. Inspect second-hand condition and sizing before buying; stock and returns differ by store. Cross Midosuji at a marked crossing to reach the arcade. Walk south through Shinsaibashi-suji toward Ebisubashi and the Dotonbori canal. The older district photograph identifies the place, not a promise that every pictured business is still trading.

Start, finish and connections

Meet at Osaka Metro Shinsaibashi Station and use signs for the west side of Midosuji and Amerikamura. JNTO gives roughly five minutes from the station to the district; the schedule allows ten for orientation. End at Metro Namba, not JR Namba or Nankai Namba.

12:00–12:10: Shinsaibashi Station → Amerikamura. Follow west-side signs and use marked street crossings.

16:30–16:45: Dotonbori → Namba Station. Follow signs for your actual rail operator; stations in Namba are not interchangeable.

Map lines show stop order, not navigable walking paths. Use the public entrances and Google Maps directions for your travel date.
