Is this route right for you?

Choose this compact neighbourhood route for Hideyoshi history and Japanese art without repeating Kiyomizu-dera or Fushimi Inari. The stops are close together but offer different experiences: shrine architecture, a historic bell, and an exhibition. This is a half-day, with an optional evening separate from the main sightseeing.

09:30–14:15 · 4h 45m including visits, walking, lunch and rest. Times are editorial planning allowances, not measured journeys or live queues. Hotel travel is additional.

What you will actually see

At Toyokuni, view the karamon gate from the public precinct; this is not a palace interior. Hoko-ji preserves the bell associated with the Toyotomi–Tokugawa conflict. Focus on the bell pavilion: the card photograph shows the temple exterior, not an accessible interior. At the museum, choose the exhibition before booking. Special exhibitions and regular collections have different tickets and dates.

Start, finish and walking route
